When OPDU was established in 1997, we formed the view that it was essential to manage all claims ourselves and we have a dedicated in-house claims service with our underwriters Chubb.
When a Scheme becomes an OPDU Member, the claims service becomes the essential contact point for OPDU and the Member and we pride ourselves on providing sympathetic and prompt attention to all claims made. We work from the assumption that the claim is valid from the outset and will always work with the Scheme’s existing providers and advisers whenever this is possible. We do not insist on using our own advisers unless this is necessary.
Prompt notification of claims is the key.
